I’m a painter of canvas, paper, and walls.
I love guitars.
I don’t paint guitars.
Well, except this one. Plus, I just finished another one. To be revealed soon.
I’ll be the first to admit that most hand-painted guitars just don’t cut it for me. They’re usually tacky or over-the-top, lacking any real artistic value.
Could I do better? Could I pull it off?
Definitely worth the challenge it seemed.
Guitars are complex surfaces to paint, as it turns out. As you paint one side, you’re most likely rubbing off your painting on the reverse side.
But the challenge is what drew me to it. I wanted to create something unique, a work of art that would stand out from the sea of mass-produced guitars out there. And so, I took on the task of painting my guitar.
It was a labor of love, spending countless hours hunched over my drafting table with a steady hand and trusting my eye for detail.
There’s just something about a hand-painted guitar that can add an extra layer of personality and character to an already beloved instrument. It’s like wearing a piece of art on stage – it not only sounds great but looks amazing too.
A quality painted guitar that succeeds can become a signature instrument if you get it right.
Did I get it right? Feels like I got close.
